On a Mission to Provide Compassionate Midwifery Care to Washington and Around the World.

At Midwives on a Mission, we are dedicated to providing loving, compassionate care that empowers women throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. Rooted in the love of Jesus, we strive to reflect His compassion and grace in all that we do, using our practice as a means to share His love with others. We prioritize informed consent, ensuring that every decision is made with honesty, integrity, and respect for each individual’s unique needs and preferences. Our mission is to create a safe and supportive environment where women feel heard, respected, and empowered to make the best choices for themselves and their families. Additionally, we are committed to supporting missionary midwives around the world, using our skills and resources in midwifery to make a global impact and help those in need.

I’m a Certified Professional Midwife, Licensed Midwife- Washington State, Natural Childbirth Educator, and Birth Monitrice, deeply committed to empowering families through education and informed choice. I believe that every woman has the right to make decisions about her birth experience that honor both her body and her baby, no matter the setting. My approach blends compassionate care and trust in the natural birthing process with a respect for current medical research and standards.
While I practice evidence-based midwifery, I am equally dedicated to fostering deep connections and offering individualized care, recognizing that each woman and family is unique. It is an honor and privilege to serve the women and families of Washington State, and I do so with joy, gratitude, and a humility.

I’m Taylor Scott CPM, LM

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Out-of-hospital birth is safe because we serve only low-risk clients. Do you wonder if you are low-risk? If you desire midwifery care, it is worth asking if you are a safe candidate for care. Just give us a call at 469-584-5484.

  • Yes! For low-risk pregnancies it can be safer to give birth at home than in a hospital.

  • The short answer is, yes! We can attend a TOLAC for a woman who has had an uncomplicated birth by surgery, with at least 18 months spacing from the surgical birth to this baby’s due date and surgical records available. According to the latest center for disease control the cesarean birth rate inthe US is 31.9% (2017), with such a high surgical birth rate, the question of how to give birth after a previous cesarean is a frequent question.

  • At this time we do not attend Breech or Twin births. If your care is already established with Midwives on a Mission and you are found to have twins or a breech baby at term an appropriate care plan will be made. The option of co-care is available to you.

  • No, I do not take insurance at this time.  While it may seem like giving birth at home will cost more, this is not normally the case. In most cases, it is still cheaper to give birth at home with our discounted cash pricing than in the hospital.
I am happy to give you a global bill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. But, I cannot guarantee reimbursement from your insurance company.

  • I am able to attend about 4-6 clients each month. Call as soon as you get that positive pregnancy test to make sure you hold a spot. Some months are open long enough to accept people late in their pregnancy as long as they have records of care from their previous midwife or MD.

  • Yes, I am able to provide genetic testing with Unity any time after 10 weeks gestation. This service can get billed through your insurance company.

  • Yes! Every person and pregnancy are different, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. I will always discuss options and give you the pros and cons of each.

  • As a licensed midwife in Washington , I can attend births between 36 and 42 weeks gestation. Most births occur between 38 and 41 weeks. Before 36 weeks or after 42 weeks, there can be more complications for the baby. This is of course discussed on a case by case basis and an appropriate care plan will be made.
